Ancestors
In this series, I explore the shifting relationship between the past, present, and future—where our landscapes came from, and where they are likely to return. By layering images of the built environment with remnants of history, I examine the impermanence of both human structures and human lives.
Using a combination of antique photographs, historical documents, and my own imagery, I merge the past with the dismantling of the present. Demolitions blend with old portraits, urban structures dissolve into landscapes, and layered images suggest alternate futures. These interventions collapse timelines, questioning what is lost, what remains, and what is inevitable.
